Signals, welcome

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

How to welcome you
Cordially my lord!
To our auspicious precincts
With bedecked hearts and souls

The season is not spring
To welcome you
With green festoons
Hung all around

The season is not also autumn
To honour you with
All fall colours
As wreaths in hands

The season is not the winter
To present and preserve your arrival
With snow men sculpted all along
By tiny and tender hands in welcome spree

The season alas! Is not the summer
To place you in our hearts
Making you comfortable
In cool climatic resorts

The season is an all time one
To all the valentines like us
So I welcome you to our hearts
With cordial carols ringing in minds.

We now sing all the welcome songs
In rhythmic rhymes
And render all your scribbled
Love poems day in and day out
To leave the rest of the world
To think big and high about
Our love divine and life celestial.
