Peak

a poem by Taniya Kulhan

Beside my home, I always see a peak
Always wondering, what will I seek
Days are quite, thoughts are high
Can’t understand, sorrow and sigh

A day I decided to go and fly
Trapped in leashes, I scream and cry
Outrage is there, boundaries are high
Will I ever cross, feign and lie

Beyond all uncertainty, Sun has risen
Only thing I saw, beauty and skies
By crossing all, line and barrier
I was nothing, but a warrior

When I reached, peak was bright
Somewhere I knew, this was right
Decision I made, may breach norm
But there I saw, need of reform
