A tribute to tea

a poem by Mayank Mohan Pande

I’ve two constant companions one I smoke the other sip,
Both are leaves that pull me on,
but if I talk of the first, doctors will shoot my words, from the hip.
I wanted to share my views on God and nature with my wife Jaishri,
But she is hurt by my recent letter,
And told me I was welcome to leave her.
I decided not to be a deserter and run away from my own home,
And to resort to the well known healer poetsindia.com.
Like my father used to say “Tea invigorates but does not inebriate”
For me it is the most uplifting associate.
It retards cancer and maladies of many a kind,
Laziness and lack of concentration it throws behind.
I wish the tea I get in the office were as good as that I get at home,
With this nectar of the Gods I feel I’m not all alone
