In the Quest for Simplicity

a poem by Sangita Sultania

Flowers and rainbows crouch
in the shadows of concrete,
Playgrounds lie barren
as children cram in black and white.

Ugly boundaries
fragment and divide,
Joy and sorrow
are digitized.

In the quest for comfort
giants abound,
Simple pleasures
seldom found.

Apes to human,
jungles to civilization.
How far, how much longer,
will it cost to pause and ponder?
