Hope in a fault

a poem by Tony Gill

The gale that rages
Inside my tortured soul
The winds of ignorance
Flashing upon the supple rocks

There was no hope in a fault
The leaves of the trees never wavered
Never there a gust of hope
Take it from a victim, distilled

Keep your ideas to a cross
Let them be torn and rot
Keep the surging power of surrender
Yes, the surrender of hope in a fault
