Utopia

a poem by Christuraj Alex

I see just like the existence of very bright daylight,
A community sharing, caring, rationally bright;
Unified under the shelter of love and brotherhood,
Freed of every contemptible wickedness and falsehood!

I see citizens, like angels, hover around happy,
None selfish, deceptive, dishonest, greedy and grabby;
Harmony, like the movement of very cosmos, rhythmic,
Facts, like mathematic logics, are so logarithmic…

No quarrels; no fights; leave alone any war and battle,
Each one is happy and content – both humans and cattle;
No hunger; no thirst; poverty and illness have a place,
Oppressions and depressions seem replaced by divine grace…

Governance, like a wave-less ocean, is calm and peaceful,
Freedom and justice flow like streams placid and delightful;
Animals, none wild, move and play amidst human beings,
Creatures, crawling and creeping rest, each one’s moods agreeing!

Do you know, in such a nation, like Adam, I’m living?
To it, like a loyal subject, my mite I am giving;
I know, my hope, like that of Job’s, never be put to test,
It’s because I trust Utopia, my true place of rest…
