Finally a neighbour

a poem by Shah Pravinchandra Kasturchand

When you are in distress,
And you want timely help;
Do not wait your friends,
Who want to, cannot help.

You call me without fail,
And I am not your friend;
But I am neighbour still,
And I have a human stand.

If I am not in the home,
And an emergency strikes,
Ask for the fire brigade,
If you see they can help.

Finally call thy prayers,
God may not descend down;
But He will trace me out,
And your prayer is heard.

Friends is qualification,
Neighbours gratification;
Prayers is communication,
To reach His destination.
