Deserted

a poem by Padmini

Deserted I stand thee, with no fragments of joy
In the lonely lane of sadness
I stand ashamed cloaking my love in a shawl
Where are the words that fed my day with sweet nothings and all.

Alone I stand with a daze, with nothing but fear
Now it is nowhere as it was before dear
As I have taken my life, my love, on a new gear
What can I have now excepting for the tear.

Goodness has vanished and every wish banished
Every happiness and joy is finished
As every radiance and light unremembered
I stand thee with all my ecstasy slumbered.

Is this the way to life, is this the way of living
My heart suffered, a pain which is unlimiting
I stay quiet, drowned in my own thinking
Thinking that the new dawn would get me a new lightning.
