Property of Love

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

Take this property of love
And place it on the highest shelf above
Let it reach its’ peak
In all the dreams it seeks

Reason with this lust for living
And sexual feelings that are giving
And let us reverse this role
For the passion of this soul

For on the water of the sea
It could only be this free
For if I could induce it to be still
It would be a steady heartbeat for real

And in turn hold close this property of love
Leaving a slacking in the need to judge
I would tighten the reigns
And began with all new things

Tell me if this property of love appeals
To all the lapping up of this deal
That date back to ancient times
When love was yours to give and to take was mine

Oh property of love I praise thee
For this uplifting and rewarding gift be
All that love was dealt to me
Alone no more but yet not free

So if property is sought
So can it also be bought?
And we know this my friend
For your property of love there is a total in
The End
