Faith

a poem by Chetan Bhatia

Dressed up in silence,
She comes and goes;
Flashes her somberness,
Like petals of rose.

Caught between friends and foes,
Her day passes bye;
Everyday she finds a new symphony,
To laugh and cry.

Eyes as if the most expressive,
Depicting everything she endures;
Recounting myriad emotions,
Reflecting everything honest and pure.

Yet ironically eyes so deep,
Beneath the depth the true self abide;
Puzzling you with the enigmatic charm,
Beautifully she plays Jeckyl and Hyde.

Melodies like sound of a flute,
Echoes in the sweetness of her voice;
Her talk intoxicates the soul,
With love, warmth and poise.

Habit of uncontrolled nature,
She ends up playing with fire;
Stepping foot on other’s feet,
In her pursuit to go higher.

Everyday she loses part of her innocence,
But something new she learns;
In the journey of life,
She experiences lot of heartburns.

She doesn’t like to flock,
With birds not of same feather;
Yet wen it is done to her,
She appeals to stay together.

For moments of happiness,
Too hard she tries;
In her pursuit full of agony,
She misses the real paradise.
