Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

a poem by Samrajni Ganguly

Yesterday,
Had bonds that immortalised it
Although past,
Its ties bind us firm.
Through the migrating winds of the past,
It seeks a glimpse of us;
And our eyes look upon it restlessly-
In times of agony,
It refreshes.
Sweet feelings haunt us with a hidden misery.
Fresh, yet memories is what we call,
Yesterday!

Today,
Seems to be mine.
Owing nature every bit of air, I breathe.
Contributing nothing of my own,
Running behind success-
Love disappearing from the way.
Eyes impatient for glory and glamour,
Relationships- complex, hidden and unreasonable…
Abrupt is the present called-
Today!

Through the toils of today,
Tomorrow peeps into the present…
Expectations, swaying.
The awaited will come with a new charm-
Let it be as immortal and beautiful,
As the days had been yesterday.
Impatient, but yet uncertain is tomorrow.
