I’ll miss you

a poem by Sabeela Masroor

Sometime later when you’ll be gone
I’ll miss you deeply from morning till dawn
Will gaze at places where we’d hang out together
Your voice will echo in these corridors forever
Your thoughts at times will make me cry
I’ll continue to weep till my tears dry
Shall cherish all memories I shared with you
A thousand inside to mention a few
Talks we’ve shared are induced in my blood
Nothing can wash it ‘neither earthquakes nor flood
Though I fought and argued a lot with you
There was mutual understanding between the two
You were always there as my leaning shoulder
To make me strong, to make me bolder
I’ll search for just that one smile
I’ll long to see your face profile
I’ll remember all the good things you told
When to let go and when to hold
End of the world to me it seems
I’ll tell myself, ‘t was only a dream
How I’ll miss the way you used to tease
I wished it was less but never cease
Will miss you more and silently crib
Would want to be hugged the way you did

Never does the law of nature mend
All good things must come to an end
I see it all going and falling apart
Cant take in so much it stresses my heart
If friends are meant to meet and depart
Then why did this friendship ever start ???
