Don’t wake up at dawn with angry eyes
For Bhuj it was once the last sunrise
Innocence nipped in the bud, Jesus’ cries
Nothing left on the cross but dying sighs.
In the ocean of life you’re a single wave
A breeze blowing awhile defiant and brave
Is it bitterness or peace you want to save
In your heart on your journey to the grave?
Time’s razor blade will strip you bare
Let it rob the dark radiance of your hair
Not precious laughter nor friendship rare
Without their comfort what else is there?
Would you break with pride or stoop to bend
Would you rend the fabric that you can mend
Would you draw the curtain before the end
Would you feed your anger or claim your friend?
