Set Sun

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

When I am taught length and breadth wise
I felt I am a student learning discipline
And thought I am growing height wise
In feet and inches in strict co ordination

I identified my self
With character and conduct
And also obeyed to high integrity
In all the walks of my life.

Now I am a grown up individual
And the pages of my moral book
Are waving swiftly to the strong winds
Watering all my principles to weary times

I decided not to welcome the unhappy turn
I am quite aware of my unbeaten strategies
I now start to translate all my dreams
Into just realities even when the crests decide to fall flat

My aims and ambitions are sweet in taste
I do not allow them to become sour
Let the sky fall on me un noticed or otherwise
I cling to my ideals as it is till the sun sets in my life.
