Dream

a poem by Uma

One fine day, the words touched the petals of the mind bud
As clear and bright as sunshine
And made the petals bloom gently into
A full grown lotus
Then the words were like gentle breeze
Rocking the lotus playfully
On the waves of happiness, to and fro
Words came along as soft evening twilight
Making the petals shine out with hues
The nights were full of dreams then
Of the green pastures, white clouds and blue hills
With the lotus being at the helm always
The words then were like dew drops
Passing delicate shivers through the petals
And the lotus kept yearning for more and more
The words just abruptly ceased one day
Making the lotus wither and soaking the petals
In the flow of its own tears
And now it is a wonder whether the bloom was real
Or just a silly day dream?
