For your eyes only

a poem by Chetan Bhatia

I know your father is thief,
who stole the two brightest stars from the night,
also taken away the milkiness of the moon,
now your eyes carry that glory of night.

Sun and moon is shining in your eyes,
your blinking makes the world lightless;
for you it is just a moment to rest,
for others, it seems doom has come upon us.

With so much beauty bestowed in your eyes,
other things seem so ugly;
I know you are waiting to see something pretty,
as you are feeling bored and lonely.

Now an age old question has been answered,
for whom, all these mountains and oceans are actually;
god made these beautiful sceneries,
for your eyes only.
