Splendid dawn draws sordid dusk

a poem by Gummadapu Narasimha Rao

September, Eleventh 2K1! Dawn Break, draws quiet
Towers Twin World Trade Center attend word faith,
Edifice Defense Pentagon, orders ardent military
White House, capital America tips duties primary.

Aircraft hijacked two blast skyscrapers as ruins
Flight third smashes cluster of defense to ashes,
Plane fourth, aims capital but hits plain ground
Shrills and yells of that millions spread around.

Zenith panic poses to humanity of terrorist acts
Morbidity amounts, from that slyly sordid stunts,
Minds of men unkind relish those sadistic feasts
Global fraternity is at stake from wicked beasts.

O God! sow seeds amity, in dire minds for blithe
As, world would mould into placid guild of faith,
Convert terrorists, as apt fold in inn of gaiety
Eschew violence to pat integrity and tranquility.

Dedicated to innocents who met sudden demise
by the acts of terrorists on September, Eleventh 2001.
