To appreciate a beauty

a poem by Nav Chandi

With the song of an angel…
enticing a snake with her charm;
Taming the demon within…
so it can do no one harm.

With a ray of sunlight…
imposed on an otherwise dreary day;
Taking away all of the rain…
much to the brutal storm’s dismay.

With the smallest eyes…
that see the beauty of the world;
Given even greater riches…
than a queen’s diamonds or pearls.

With a song so soft…
only the most acute ear can hear;
Some grow weary of such a melody…
but in one it does not strike any fear.

To appreciate a beauty…
in all of her splendour;
A beauty seen by only one…
in the heart that it does render.
