The End

a poem by Sayan Chaudhuri

As darkness crept in
Silence overcame the chaotic din
Everything came to a standstill
The unfulfilled hearts could not have their fill

But what was the cause of this misery?
What had made everything so jittery?
It was because love had perished
Instead violence had been nourished

Emotions found no place in the human soul
Feelings had been drained into an empty hole
The whole world was crumbling
Mother Nature was trembling

And Oh! The inevitable has finally happened
Judgement Day has arrived.
