O Lord! What do you wish from me?

a poem by Benna Rao Goli

Do You wish my heart Lord?
Oh! No! I can’t. Devil degraded;
Oh! You wish my tongue,
What evil word has it yet unsung?

My legs! Sorry to say “No”,
What place do they not know?
My hands! Shall I deny?
Did every thing saying never “why”.

Oh! My eyes! Don’t wish them,
What obscene scenes did they condemn?
It’s my mind You wish
Never shall I say “Yes” its thoughts are devilish.

What! You wish me evil give up!
I’m firmly rooted as evil I sup;
“Yes”, but I say, pleading grace bestow,
“No”, saying to evil heart glow.
