Before I fall asleep

a poem by Hari (IIT)

Streams of sun inflate your eyes
But the bliss of the darkness is still alive
For within the realms of the drowsy mind
Rings the fact, that is not so kind
The fact that there is a long day ahead
Before we return back to the bed

Time and nature conspire to bestow
The worst nightmare in the day
Blinded by lassitude I seek the end
The eternal torture that ceases to bend
Like every beginning has an end
The shades of gray comes back to your head

For all I see, will be darkness amidst
The wisps of light that twinkle like stars
With movements so rapid and yet so still
Portals that open up that make you scream
Is that what they call a dream?

Screens flash with countless images
When space and time are seemingly worthless
That show entities which are so mystical
Which becomes so whimsical
And yet so logical
When the streams of sun inflate your eyes
