An ode to the Spring Goddess, Parvati

a poem by Charishma Jaikishin Ramchandani

Dear Mother Parvati, enlivening female force
Infusing the world here and there, with a splash of magic dose
Confident, courageous, clear-sighted and balanced,
Guiding one’s focus and vision, and making her trust enhanced!
India’s Greatest Goddess, the active principle of divinity,
Animating, life-giving and busy, in every town and city
Moving mountains and bending, every blade of grass,
To the loving warmth of the sun, before it would pass!
Dipped in radiant beauty, giving stars their shine,
Resting, renewing and refreshing, life and things divine
Loving life, radiating trust and loving warmth
Commanding respect, yet spreading delight, wherever You walk!
Empowering me, by reminding me, of my own strength and wisdom,
Not advising me, but helping me, confide in You my secrets
Making me enjoy the company, of my own loving smile,
Dear Loving Goddess, I think of you all the while!
