Soliloquy of a caged bird

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

As long as the beautiful parrot
Is put behind the golden prison frame named cage
I won’t dream of loving others at all in any phase
My anger and restlessness do like this as a guiding pilot

I with a kind tone pray you for my release
I show the way how the other birds are allowed
To fly freely in the air almost reaching to the columns of sky

Cuckoo have the freedom to sing their songs
Other birds were allowed to move free all along
But for uttering of my sweet words I was put behind these bars
Only to cajole the house owners when ever they need at par

I am not able to meet my kids, kith and kin since long
I lost hopes of meeting them in near future it is indeed a sad song
Shall I have to lonely die this dependent death?
Solely cursing my fate in the soul wards in width and breath?

Let me come out of this cage to greet all my colleagues in great on this love day
Let me kiss- let me hug and let me embrace all my sisters and brothers in a passionate way
And needlessly to assert I continue to be lawful to all the human in my heart with deep depth
Without any prejudice to any living being whatsoever on earth.
