Recourse to Nature

a poem by Shah Pravinchandra Kasturchand

I am a small plant now;
I was a tiny seed before;
The earth did not bother me
when I was underneath with her.

I did not thank the water;
Still it quenched my thirst;
The earth allowed me to stay;
It did not ask for any reward.

I am a small plant growing,
Under a tall tree above me;
Tree not asking me go away;
Lets me grow under, further.

There are seeds;
There are plants;
There are trees;
We are all growing;
All living together;
Not warring against;
All growing peacefully;
All growing naturally.

The seed is in mother’s womb;
The small plant is the child;
The tall tree is the grown man;
Still men in war, unnaturally.

We have been showing this to mankind;
But it is not kind enough to see it;
Let them turn to us one day;
We will show them peacefully, naturally.
