God sends down showers of rain,
But then, it all goes to the drain,
It comes faster than the fastest train,
But what’s the use of all the strain.
They say it rains cats and dogs,
But it’s useful only to the frogs,
The leaves are there to break their fall,
So let them come, one and all.
It makes us want to go out and play,
In all that wet mud and clay,
It’s the farmers who like it the most,
So dangerous when near the coast.
Oh! rain, don’t stop,
It’s good for the crop,
But don’t overflow,
It will bring sorrow.
