Awaiting a clouded sky

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

The land readied for cropping
By tilling with plough
Seeds were put into the soil
In the natural process

The needed rain is awaited
For quick germination
No clouds seen in the sky
That give hopes of timely rains

Tears gathering in large quantum
In the community of agriculture
Son’s education should not have any breaks
Daughters marriage to be performed as promised

The ornaments pledged with the bank
Must be redeemed in time
The wife should have her ornaments
At least once in a year during off season

For all these happenings to move on happy note
The soil should be blessed with rains on time
And the quantity of rain fall must be adequate in nature
Oh! Rain God! We await your arrival in quick succession!!!

Let the sky be spread with thick black raining clouds
And the drops of rain should assist the crops to grow and yield better
