Lightning ravages the darkened sky
as I stand here, observing
the ballet of colour rape the twilight.
I was here, once before,
with you.
My heart beats to a dull, aching rhythm
as flashes from my picture book of memories
sail before my distorted, moistened vision.
They float and dance
to a painfully tear-filled lyric.
I visualise your smile
as I gaze upon your silhouette
shimmering under the falling rain.
I never said the words…
to you.
Faint echoes of distant thunder
slips between the hammer and the anvil,
almost singing a ballad of remorse
as my heart bleeds
and the emptiness germinates.
Vibrant tones of your laughter
crawl up my spine,
exciting your lingering scent,
indulging my intoxication of your absence,
widening the circle of emptiness.
