Realization

a poem by Rijoy Bhaumik

I saw her the first time in my deepest dreams,
She smiled at me, a series of radiant beams,
I awoke feeling a new ounce of weight,
A feeling unfathomed bound by Fate,
My heart was drowning in the dreary rain,
She rescued it and drove me insane,
I knew I had succumbed to Venus’ charm,
Knew She was about to cause me great harm,
Light failed to shine in upon me,
I’ll tell you why, because you see:

Realization!
Of God’s great creation,
Had cracked it’s whip from high above;
Because of Realization!
Without instigation,
And I knew this has got to be love.

I saw her again on a rainy Saturday,
Eyes shining bright, as she held absolute sway,
Her entire being rendered me totally numb,
And compelled me to be speechless and dumb,
The sky roared and shed his tears,
But my heart swooned on some different fears,
I knew she was the girl for me,
But did SHE know that, I wonder, oh gee!
Of loving and caring I knew not the laws,
Let me tell you, you see because:

Realization!
Not an infatuation,
Oh help me God! From the stars above;
Indeed Realization!
No exaggeration,
And I knew I had fallen in love.

I saw her again as the Sun showed his face,
In the dazzling light her enchanting grace,
She pulled back her hair and smiled at me,
My poor heart sighed, yet danced with glee,
I wanted to tell her my feelings galore,
I couldn’t keep it in me any longer, any more,
She wasn’t exotic yet she was divine,
Oh Lord! I wish she was forever mine,
She has made me live life again a-new,
Oh don’t you know? Then let me tell you:

Realization!
Of deep contemplation,
I seek no less than the stars above,
Yes! Realization!
Growing anticipation,
Of the day I will present her my love.

I felt her deep warmth wash o’er me again,
I tried to speak to her, but all in vain,
Puzzled, she tried to walk away from me,
It wasn’t my time yet to fall on one knee,
Yet on my heart she plays the perfect tune,
She is the greatest, my life’s only little boon,
I knew my heart she will never, ever break,
The reason you know that she is not a fake,
“I will speak to her someday!”, I say, I vow!
But till then all I can say is what I say now:

Realization!
The only destination,
“Your time is NOW!”: the Voice-From-Above;
Here comes Realization!
New hallucination,
As I see her take away all my love.
