Rain

a poem by Tagore Almeida

I’ll be there when you need me,
To hold you and to make love to you passionately.
I’ll make you smile, keep away your pain,
Dance with you crazily in the pouring rain.

We’ve been good friends, and yet we are lovers too,
Resting your head on my shoulders, we dream about a world for me and you.
Where there’s just happiness as we smile day after day,
Kissing each other after every word that we say.

Whenever we fight, it hurts so badly
I hate the world that I live in, I just don’t want to be me,
The sunshine means nothing and I can’t help but go insane,
Sitting at my window, I see my soul dancing alone in the pouring rain.

You are my love, my baby, my everything,
The audience for who I write and sing.
Yet you are my loneliness and my pain,
The one who I cry for, standing in the rain.

Rain, rain pour down on us all,
Wash away the barriers that try to separate me and my girl this way.
