Once Again

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

Tapping the waves of ecstasy makes
The gem of love mine to take
I rose to the warmth of your smile
And knew right away that yo azz was wild
So I stop to take your hand
Hearing all the music of the band
And hoping to release in you
A love that sprouted wings and flew
My depths are open to oceans of realism
And my arms are definitely for pleasurism
Your heart was open to all of this
I had only to give you a kiss
But then something happened and you changed
Since then our relationship has not been the same
I often wonder if you knew
That some day you would make me blue
I hear your heartbeat in my sleep
I try to quiet my own as it weeps
But what stunned me most of all
Was the fact that I let myself fall
Again I trusted you my friend
Only to have you shun me once more in
The end
