Miles to go

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

Miles to go to reach you my dear!
Awake and arise
Even up to mid hours tonight
Till I cling you to my chest oh! my throb!

Bridge may be icy
Cautions the boards
Pass with care
While on freeways a speed

Beneath the ways
The meadows are dried
Autocrat autumn’s
Annual ride indeed!

Rough weather
Snowy peaks
Skidding tyres
All in a while

Miles to go to meet you my dear
Loot the lute of mine
And ping your songs
My lovelock! till I sing you

I now speed up the gears
Touch the accelerator
Miles still ahead
To reach you my beloved!

Trust in motion
Keeps me brave
Thrust in love
Makes me to dare

I’m just in your precincts
My dear!
Keep ready to hug me
In warmth and wets

I desire your love
Distress I never mind
