Love Post-Mortem

a poem by Mohan Chandran P

I was lonely, and at your heart, I knocked,
Suddenly, into my life, you walked.
I was looking for love, as I was love-lorn,
I thought, only for me, you were born.
You showed me the colors of love in my dream,
And pumped my heart, like a balloon of steam.
When you took me in your embrace,
My heart-beats gradually expedited its pace.
But, you killed me in one stroke,
When my trust and heart, you broke.
That love could be fatal, I never thought,
But, except me, this argument, everyone bought.
In love, now I don’t have an iota of belief,
Life without love, is an eternal relief.
