Silent Killer

a poem by Mohan Chandran P

You killed me silently with such great knack,
Such deadly skills, you could never lack.
You put me, on the road to death,
After infusing into me, a new breath.
As sunlight is essential for photo synthesis,
I looked up to you, for my love’s genesis.
Deeply, my heart, you perforated,
The pain has been exacerbated, but not abated.
You proved me, love, in this world, is a farce,
By leaving in my heart, innumerable scars.
The very term of ‘Love’ now makes me dread,
So deep and wide has the effect spilled and spread.
Love gives life, but with it, I was killed,
Leaving behind abysmal chasm, which can never be filled.
