Let us sing sweet

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

Dusk dragged to dancing dawn
Rays from high skies
Turn to fall colours on autumn leaves
To beautify the earth on the festive day
Let us sing sweet all through the day

Waves from the sea whisper to sing duets in chorus
Birds from the nests wriggle out to fly in sorts
Fragrance spreads from the garden with ardent ecstasy
Let us sing sweet all through the day

Poet prospering to read enchanting couplets
Mind preparing to voice the melodious song updates
Serene soul showering dimples at cheeks
Let us sing sweet all through the day

The first glance at the poets’ meet
The first kiss at the deer park
The first embrace at rain dance dust
All remind us the day as of Valentines
Let us sing sweet all through the day
