Serenade

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

As voiceless snow spying all around
The night is restless with desolating dreams
The wingless birds wish not to sing duets
The darkened sky travels alien with no stars or moon

The wet eyes are weary and weak
The meadows ahead are dry and dim
The shivering colds shuns the sulken silence
The thinness of thread of our love heckles me most

Let me look stronger day by day hereafter my dear!
With un alloyed happiness reigning the hearts
Try not to bewitch my eyes once again my throb!
The unending road is not my destiny I swear.

The loneliness withers away with passage of time
The longing affection enlivens our lush green paths
Let us laugh away the autumn made atrocities
Swinging along with the spring to wish us sweet nothings my beloved
