A Dream

a poem by Abraham Oommen

If I could dream like a child
Lying beside my mom
Riding the clouds on its back
Roaming about in the vast
Reaching the stars from stars
Walk on the waves and the tides
Holding the moon in my hands
How I wish I could: like a child!
Picking up shells on the strand
Counting the waves of the sea
Calling mermaids to the shore
And telling them of my dreams
Gleaming with joy and mirth
Swimming deep amidst the pearls!
