Creation Imperfect

a poem by Mabel Annie Chacko

When the moonlight came in through my window,
And pierced away the darkness of my room,
When the stars twinkled like gems,
And made my eyes go blurred with their gleaming beauty,
I lay awake in my bed and thought,
Oh God, what a wonderful creation have you made!
So unique is your creation,
Oh! What a beautiful piece of art it looks from afar!
Thy hands are so creative,
You made everything perfect.
But for those few unlucky ones,
Whom we call ‘special children’,
Why did you make them disabled,
Both mentally and physically?
Inspite of your perfection in all fields,
Can you give a solution,
To these children,
Can you give them a new aspiration
To live and smile?
Then your CREATION IMPERFECT,
Would become CREATION PERFECT.
