Cosmic Dance

a poem by Ramesh Narasimhan

The dance of gods is a sight to see;
The first one was of Shiva and Shakti;
Infinite poses, patterns and rhythms;
Marked this duet; O! one could write hymns.

Grace, poise and infinite tenderness;
Nature’s vast bounty and wilderness;
Wit, sparks and keen vivacity;
All the creations were Shakti.

Intelligence, motion, thunder and bliss;
Energy, literature and poetry was his;
With grammar, syllable, syntax and sound;
Shiva, for every ripple of Hers, did rebound.

Proton, electron, and brilliance to the sun;
Were formed, when this Duo became one;
Right now, the cosmic dance goes on;
That’s life for you, from dusk to dawn.
