Deceitful Art

a poem by Sheela K . Sharath

A framed masterpiece,
art juxtaposed with nature,
a masterful combination
of light, line and form
wrought by a
palette of minimal
colours.

`A burnished countryside’
hands itch to touch
the windswept grass!
`Soft light filtering through
muslin curtains onto a
waking form -‘
dust particles seem
to float in the wake
of the sunshine stream!
`A weeping forlorn child’
pathos charged with
surrealism,
reach and touch the
falling teardrop –
feel its wetness!

The painted image so real,
so evocative,
almost deceitful!
