Treat Me Kindly

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

On your honor do
Give me life anew
Tell me stories of joy
Even if I seem a bit coy

Stretch for me a yarn
From the hairs of corn
But treat me kindly please
For I am fragile and must need

Lead me through a maze
With your laughter raised
Give me even time
As you push the line

Tempt me again and again
But leave me treated kindly my friend
For if you do I will give you love in
The End
