Smile…

a poem by Joy

That smile from within you repeatedly ask of me
Even as you willingly break my heart and flee
Even as you deny that you ever loved or cared
Implying it was all a foolish dream I dared
Will I ever these emotional storms brave
And smile that smile from within you do so crave?

Revealing a stoical, unbelievably ruthless side of you
You snap the bonds, that seemed to be good to be true
Do you punish me for romanticising “us” out of proportion
I would start loving you so much, you had no notion
You chide me to let go, move on, as I beg me meet
Declaring my love, I lay my hapless heart at your feet.
Let the heart wounds bleed, let the soul tears flow free
I will be doubly blessed if You could smile THAT smile for ME.
