Hell of a Life

a poem by Tanushree Nair

I was walking through my life,
Looking for something I didn’t have any clue,
For every stone I crossed,
Discovered another piece of my soul,
Torn apart as my shoe.

Why is that as I grow and age,
Rather than to mature as sage,
As if a dying plant gives way to a new seed,
I am bounded by worldly envy and greed.

Wicked thoughts rule my mind,
Abnoxism oozes from my presence,
With a heart full of loathe,
Hatred acts as my sixth sense.

Frustrations steal my nights,
Anger and denial fills my day,
Sadistic are my pleasures,
To Satan I pay homage and pray.

Crying is of no use,
For I have no-one to wipe my tears,
Playing in my loneliness,
My best friends are my fears.
