Wife

a poem by Lakshminarayana K

Wife’s the saviour of virtue, not vice.
The destroyer of the old but nice;
Wife’s the teacher of morals and mirth,
Wife’s the symbol of secret and birth.
She’s the parakeet at pearls and jewels.
She’s the saga of great, great duels;
She’s the premier of dress and fashions;
And the worshipper of timeless passions.
Her life’s a boat on the tideless stream,
Her soul’s the source of a verdant dream;
Her steps’re the strides of vernal verse,
Her work’s worthy, as kind as a nurse.
