a poem by Sathya N K

They loose at times to their brood, yet they win,
They acquire kindred twinge, yet manage to grin.

They are there whenever required yet they don’t grouse,
They sacrifice everything yet they expect nothing in response.

They shower their love totally yet at times they aren’t loved,
They are the symbols of our older generation yet they get ignored.

They live holding their past yet they cope up with the present,
They are our granny’s n grand pa’s yet to get recognized in many a kin’s tent.
