Me

a poem by Yamini Krish

THINKing about MYSELF
I think a lot about myself these days
Yes, I think a lot about myself.

I think of a ‘ME’ with my sweet granny
Watching her do things, all uncanny
So unconditional the love she shows
Needless to say, to her my head bows.

I think of a ‘ME’ with my bubbly sis’
Watching her mock, moan and hiss
The lovely rains we watched together
Yapping, yanking and enjoying the weather.

I think of a ‘ME’ with my wonderful dad
Watching him whine, whistle and go mad.
Forever, so dear and heroic to me he is,
All his counsel and care, I sure do miss.

I think of a ‘ME’ with my dearest mother,
Watching her tussle with me hither and thither
Remarkable were those moments of glory
A mother she is, so finicky and lovely!!

I think a lot about myself these days
Yes, I think a lot about myself.
