Intoxicated

a poem by Sidharth Kumar

Drinking till the last drop
With no intention to hop
A routine process now
Mind says wow
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated

Never knew love would be this struggle
Keeping me away from snuggle
Life is to lead with the one
I have turned now Mr. Someone
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated

With every peg of whisky
Life can go risky
Unconscious level increasingly rising
All I feel is someone missing
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated

No one to hold me tight
Am drooping and not upright
Its morning hours of wee
Oh, the time is quarter to three
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated

Leaving morality behind
Citizenry classify me as unrefined
Can’t distinguish between freind and friend
Eyes not able to comprehend
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated

Continuing this episode
And never end this ode
Am learning to survive
Until you make me come alive
Heart says no
But I have to go
Getting drunk for you, getting intoxicated for you
Getting helplessly inebriated
