The Confidence Factor

a poem by Jagganathan V

It is a competitive world, it is always difficult to battle,
The very thought you are right up there, makes your nerve rattle;
Amidst mounting pressures, refreshing challenges and the cynosure of all eyes,
The tougher you are, the tougher it gets, there the real challenge lies…

You swim bravely across the huge treacherous oceans, that ocean of unexplored mystery,
A bold swimmer, you must create a name for yourself in history.
You are often left alone in the dark and the biting cold,
Worry not, the fire within you, enlightens you and gives you the hold.
Walk barefoot on your path, let the tiny thorns pierce you, but never ever rest,
Keep moving, you see the peak, it is near do your best.
Let the heavy rain bathe you, let the hot sun take you for a toast,
Let the hurly winds, like the breeze, keep you fresh, till you reach the coast.

Now that you have reached the peak, you can see an another one, rising its crown,
An another path, tiny thorns, the sun, the rain, winds again, but still do not frown;
Unlimited ideas,goals,ambitions aplenty they occur and occur not even the sky is the range,
Enjoy every wee bit, feel relaxed, as there is ‘nothing permanent in life except change’.
