Tales Recollected

a poem by Jayati

My youngest
brother said to me thoughtful,
“Didi, today,
how could we be so forgetful,
to Rabindranath Tagore’s Budir Kella?”
“Hmm, you are perhaps right
throwing light,
to a way out
for the mullah,”
Can’t
the diplomats
take tips
from yesteryears?
History repeats itself,
ghost in disguise!
Scenario more or less,
the same old deserts.
Dummy solutions
of those
clever ministers;
Let Baghdad
imply
the same
duplicate
it as hers.
