Of Me

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

I took a look at my life
And I decided there had been much strife
I rose to the occasion though
And as I found the flow

My head I set straight
What my heart had to say
I refuse to dwell in my slices
For I have been prevented from life’s nicest

But I do have left you see
A few more slices of me
I put them together to form
A line of thought beyond the norm

I have yet to reach
All that I intend to seek
But I am happy to give
Slices of me as I lived

For my knowledge is power
And I hope to share it every hour
With my family and my friends
Knowing they will pass it on in
The End
