Faith

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

I went dancing with faith and it wouldn’t let me go
I sat down with faith to discuss its bright glow
I asked a man about faith that was of the cloth
I was a fan to my faith until tension it brought

I try to go by my faith when all else has failed
I try to live with my faith when I am livid as hell
I talk to faith with a sincere heart
I bargain with faith when I’ve made a false start

I am in tune with faith and humans on land
But faith I don’t sometimes understand
Faith has drawn me to it through the lord from above
Faith has comforted me with solace peace and love

Only thru my troubles has faith been there
It has stood tall and solid when I felt no one cared
Faith has to me been a mother, lover, sister, brother and friend
You see I have a strong oak standing faith and will carry it through to
The End
